 Ante-post Series #1 With the 6 week countdown for the Cheltenham underway the time has come to build my Ante-post team to take me into the festival.  My plan for this segment is to try and put up at least one selection every week from now until just before the Festival, with a summary of the team as we head into Cheltenham week itself! First things first, we need to identify the idea behind Ante-post betting as well as identifying the risk that comes with backing horses this far out of the Festival. Ideally you want to side with Horses that you KNOW is being targeted for the race. This eliminates the potential risk of your selections owners or trainers deciding to take a different route at the Festival and acts as a bit of a safety net. Having said that there can be a benefit to picking horses who aren't yet confirmed for a particular race. Cheltenham Trials Day Preview we have a big day of Saturday racing ahead of us as we take a look at the last Cheltenham meeting before the big week in March!. Every year this meeting is a solid indicator to what we can expect at the festival. Some enhance their chances for the big day by winning here whilst others are left with it all to do, either way this meeting is promised to deliver.  So enough with the rambling, lets get stuck in to a fantastic card and hopefully we can deliver a few winners as well. 12.40 - Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase the first race of the day is a competitive one. There are lots of odds on favourites on the card today however we have a very good competitive race to kick us with a solid handicap chase.  Hello Racing World For my first blog I think its only right to start with sharing a little bit about myself and why this blog could be resourceful to anyone who is either a fan of national hunt racing, or somebody looking to get into the sport that would simply like to learn more about it. My name is Ollie Gedge and I've been a fan of horse racing for many years. I wouldn't say I had what you'd call a typical affiliation with racing as far as going from an early age or it being instilled in my family growing up, however over the years I've grown to fall in love with the sport and I hope this blog could be a gateway to anyone out there whose looking to further their knowledge in the game, or it simply be a space where existing racing fans can come for all their racing updates.
