For my first blog I think its only right to start with sharing a little bit about myself and why this blog could be resourceful to anyone who is either a fan of national hunt racing, or somebody looking to get into the sport that would simply like to learn more about it.

My name is Ollie Gedge and I've been a fan of horse racing for many years. I wouldn't say I had what you'd call a typical affiliation with racing as far as going from an early age or it being instilled in my family growing up, however over the years I've grown to fall in love with the sport and I hope this blog could be a gateway to anyone out there whose looking to further their knowledge in the game, or it simply be a space where existing racing fans can come for all their racing updates.

In this blog I will be covering the following:
  • Breaking stories and big news outbreaks
  • Previews and reviews of all the big meetings and festivals
  • An Antepost series where I tip various selections for the upcoming Cheltenham Festival in March
  • 'Hot or Flop' - where I give my opinion on what horses to follow and what horses I'd be against going forward.
  • Weekly Round ups where we discuss what's been happening over the last week in racing

I hope this short introduction has given you all a good indicator of what to expect over the course of the season and I cant wait to get started!

The BIG Cheltenham  Festival Preview: Day 1 Introduction It's finally here! Hello and welcome to my 2025 Cheltenham Festival preview. The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 2

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 2 13.20 - Turners Novice Hurdle Our first race of day 2 is the Turner's novice Hurdle and I've been quite keen to take on The New Lion in this race so I'm siding the Nathanial Lacy winner Final Demand. He was so impressive at the DRF and although a lot of people think he'd be better suited stepping up in trip, I think he could gallop the rest of the field into the ground here and put some of the speedier types such as The New Lion under pressure early doors. One here I like who I believe is overpriced is  The Yellow Clay . He's unbeaten over hurdles this season and was very impressive in the Lawlor's of Naas back in January on ground that he wouldn't have preferred. He'll also need a strongly run race and hope this doesn't turn into a sprint but either way I cant see him outside of the places.
