Cheltenham Ante-Post Series 2025/26 Vol #2

Cheltenham Ante-Post Series 2025/26 Vol #2 Impose Toi -   Stayers Hurdle - 12/1 (1PT) I'm heading to the Stayers Hurdle for my 2nd Ante-post pick of the season in the form of Impose Toi for trainer Nicky Henderson. There was a few top class performances over this past weekend but I think this lad tops the lot! - so I'm keen to get him on my side before his price gets too short. He looked very classy at Newbury on Saturday beating a course specialist in Strong Leader & I just loved the way he travelled into the contest before picking off his main rival after the last. -  To me he was always in control. I think it's fair to say you can definitely pick holes in the 2 market leaders that are Teahupoo & Ballyburn priced at 5/2 and 3/1 respectively. Although both of them may have enhanced their claims for Cheltenham in the Hatton's Grace this weekend neither of them looked like world beaters to me so I'm very keen to try take the pair of them on here. I'd li...

Cheltenham Ante-Post Series 2025/26 Vol #1

Cheltenham Ante-Post Series 2025/26 Vol #1 With it now being November with the National Hunt season now in full flow I think it's only fitting that we get our 2025/26 Cheltenham Ante-Post series underway! My plan throughout the winter is the bring you at least 1 selection every couple of weeks from now until the DRF in February with another few extra selections just before we kick off in March. If you follow me on X you'll know that I don't usually provide a staking plan as I've never regarded myself as a 'Tipster'. However for the sake of the Ante-Post book I will provide a recommend points staked alongside every selection. So let's get started! Quilixios - Champion Chase - 33/1 (1PT EW) If you've read my horses to follow list for this season you'll know that I've got the feeling that this lad is in for a big campaign. Trainer Henry De Bromhead has already stated that this is once again the plan and will work back from this race throughout the s...

2025/26 Horses To Follow

Horses To Follow 2025/26 With the new National Hunt season just around the corner it's time for me to share the horses we should all have on side for the upcoming campaign. In this piece I'll be sharing my opinion on a whole host of interesting candidates . From barely raced novices to already well known stars, this is my early guide to making the 2025/26 season a profitable one.  So get your trackers out and let's rattle through my horses to follow for the season ahead..  #1 - Davy Crockett Trainer: Willie Mullins Owner: JP McManus Form: 11- Division: Novice Hurdles Comments: I bet you knew it wouldn't take long for me to mention a Willie Mullins novice but this might be a new record, however this is one I'm sure a few people are already getting excited about based off the breeding alone. He's sired by Camelot who was a group one winner on the flat over 1m4f whilst the Dam is none other than Champion Hurdle winner Annie Power (you might've heard of her). No...

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 3

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 3 13.20 - Mares Novices' Hurdle The first race on Thursday is quite a competitive one but I'm just about siding with Galileo Dame for Joseph O'Brian. This horse was very eye catching running behind Hello Neighbour in the Juvenile hurdle at the DRF last month which is by far the strongest piece of form in the race. She'll also get weight from the rest of the field here and could easily see her going one better here. One I think is overpriced in this is Diva Luna . She's been very hot and cold of late but her form from the end of last season shows that she's got the talent to mix it with this strong field. Trainer Ben Pauling seemed very confident on her chances and said that she's been showing all the signs at home to say she could be back to her best. A cracking each-way bet. Selection: Galileo Dame Danger/EW: Diva Luna Star Rating: 3/5 14.00 Jack Richards Novice Chase This race is the last that has recently been t...

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 2

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 2 13.20 - Turners Novice Hurdle Our first race of day 2 is the Turner's novice Hurdle and I've been quite keen to take on The New Lion in this race so I'm siding the Nathanial Lacy winner Final Demand. He was so impressive at the DRF and although a lot of people think he'd be better suited stepping up in trip, I think he could gallop the rest of the field into the ground here and put some of the speedier types such as The New Lion under pressure early doors. One here I like who I believe is overpriced is  The Yellow Clay . He's unbeaten over hurdles this season and was very impressive in the Lawlor's of Naas back in January on ground that he wouldn't have preferred. He'll also need a strongly run race and hope this doesn't turn into a sprint but either way I cant see him outside of the places. Selection: Final Demand Danger: The Yellow Clay  Star Rating: 4/5 14.00 - Brown Advisory Novices' Chase There...

The BIG Cheltenham Festival Preview: Day 1

The BIG Cheltenham  Festival Preview: Day 1 Introduction It's finally here! Hello and welcome to my 2025 Cheltenham Festival preview. Here I'll be covering all 28 races across all 4 days of the festival as well as a selection for every single race! I understand this is going to be a lot to consume so to make it easy I'm just going to give a brief description of each selection along side the potential danger in the race as well as a rating out of 5 on how keen I am on each one. So with that being said let's get straight to it! 13.20 - Supreme Novices' Hurdle We kick off with the Supreme Novice Hurdle and I know it's not very original but I'm all over the favourite here which is Kopek Des Bordes . Now if you've followed me for a while you'll know how much I've been going on about this lad since his bumper last Easter at Fairyhouse. I actually put him up for the Turner's so this is slightly bitter sweet seeing him run here after seeing my 25/1 s...

Saturday Selections - 22/02/25

Saturday Preview Although at this time of year we all have at least one eye on the upcoming Cheltenham Festival we do still have some decent weekend racing to look forward to. With cards at Kempton, Newcastle and Chepstow in the UK as well some good racing over in Ireland. In this blog I'll be sharing my selections for the weekend as well as my reasoning behind them and I hope we can pick out a few winners so let's get started! 13.50 - Kempton - Ladbrokes Pendil Novices' Chase Rubaud - 6/4 I'm heading to Kempton for my first selection and I know its boring but I am siding with the favourite here in the shape of Rubaud. We only saw him a couple of weeks ago running in the Kingmaker at Warwick where he came a good 2nd to Arkle contender L'Eau du Sud and stayed on well towards the end and although that might've been exaggerated by the favourite idling out in front, I still think he was a respectable run against a solid grade 1 horse. Trainer Paul Nicholls has won t...
