Cheltenham Ante-Post Series 2025/26 Vol #1

With it now being November with the National Hunt season now in full flow I think it's only fitting that we get our 2025/26 Cheltenham Ante-Post series underway!

My plan throughout the winter is the bring you at least 1 selection every couple of weeks from now until the DRF in February with another few extra selections just before we kick off in March.

If you follow me on X you'll know that I don't usually provide a staking plan as I've never regarded myself as a 'Tipster'. However for the sake of the Ante-Post book I will provide a recommend points staked alongside every selection.

So let's get started!


Quilixios - Champion Chase - 33/1 (1PT EW)

If you've read my horses to follow list for this season you'll know that I've got the feeling that this lad is in for a big campaign. Trainer Henry De Bromhead has already stated that this is once again the plan and will work back from this race throughout the season so I'm happy to get him in the book early.

This is a race that has had a tendency over the years to fall apart with a lot of short priced favourites being turned over & we saw that again in 2025. Quilixios was in a share for the lead with the eventual winner Marine Nationale when he came down & although it's hard to tell whether he'd have won the race, they were miles clear of the rest of the field and would've guaranteed a place at least if it wasn't for that error.

33/1 seems a very fair price and we should see a return if he runs as well as he did last year.

The BIG Cheltenham  Festival Preview: Day 1 Introduction It's finally here! Hello and welcome to my 2025 Cheltenham Festival preview.  Hello Racing World For my first blog I think its only right to start with sharing a little bit about myself and why this blog could be resourceful to anyone who is either a fan of national hunt racing, or somebody looking to get into the sport that would simply like to learn more about it.
